WORKSHOP ON ENTREPRENEURSHIP and INNOVATION as CAREER OPPORTUNITY ( 12-01-2024)

A workshop   entitled "Entrepreneurship and Innovation as career opportunity" was held by Institutional Innovation Council on National Youth Day dated 12 Jan, 2024 under the able guidance of Dr Barjinder Singh Tohra Principal,Government College Malerkotla. The resource persons - Mr Romil Bansal and Mr Gagandeep Singh (B. L. O, industrial department Malerkotla) informed the college students about the various government schemes and policies regarding Entrepreneurship and innovation. Principal Dr. Barjinder Singh Tohra and Vice Principal Dr Mohammed Shakeel also inspired and motivated the students to have an innovative approach and develop entrepreneurial skills. A question hour was also held and the resource persons made every attempt to alleviate all doubts and queries from students. The event was hosted by Nodal Officer, IIC Dr Zia Jamal. The staff members Dr Kanchan Jain,Dr Shafiq Thind,Asst.Prof. Sukhbir Singh, Asst. Prof.Manpreet Singh, Asst. Prof .Sukhchain Singh and Dr Pritpal Kaushik actively participated in the workshop.

My story - Motivational Session by Successful Innovator: Keynote Speaker Dr. Mohd. Rafi (Former ADPI Colleges Punjab)

A workshop entitled "My story - Motivational Session by Successful Innovator" was organised by IIC  on 15 Jan, 2024 under the able guidance of Principal Dr  Barjinder Singh Tohra. The chief guest of this occasion, Dr Mohammad Rafi (former ADPI ) addressed the students and motivated them by narrating his own life experiences. He revealed that he has utilised his own piece of land as an eco friendly hub cum picnic spot and initiated several skill development courses  and career guidance workshops there for the betterment of students. Principal Dr. Barjinder Singh Tohra also encouraged the students to have an innovative bent of mind and take appropriate steps to enhance their entrepreneurial skills. The workshop was enthusiastically attended by  staff members  Hargurpartap Singh (Asst. Prof) Gurjinder Singh Chahal (Asst. Prof)Mohammad Suhaib (Asst. Prof) Dr Kanchan Jain (Asst. My story - Motivational Session by Successful Entrepreneur: Keynote Speaker Mr. Jai Singh Marahar (CEO, Marahar Power Control Private Limited)

A Workshop on "My story- Motivational Session by Successful Entrepreneur" was conducted on 18 Jan, 2024 as per guidelines of Directorate, Higher Education (colleges) Punjab. Mr Jai Singh Marahar (CEO, Marahar Power Control Private Limited) and founder Marahar Educational Society was invited as a guest of honour. He encouraged the students to develop entrepreneurial skills by narrating incidents from his own  journey in entrepreneurship. He revealed that a highly advanced technology lab has been established by his endeavours which provides vocational training to students free of cost thereby helping students in establishing their own manufacturing units. He further invited students and staff to visit his Technical lab. Vice principal, Dr. Mohd.Shakeel thanked the chief guest for delivering an invaluable lecture and inspiring students by providing a road map towards developing  successful career in entrepreneurship. Principal Dr. Barjinder Singh Tohra also emphasized the need to cultivate entrepreneurial skills among students thereby generating self employment. Sukhbir Singh (Asst. Workshop Entitled "Session on Problem Solving and Ideation" ( 22-01-2024)

A workshop on problem solving and ideation was held by IIC  on 22 Jan, 2024 under the patronage of Principal, Dr.Barjinder Singh Tohra as per the guidelines issued by Director, Higher Education Department  (Colleges) Punjab. Mr Mohammed Qamar area sales manager,  Oppo mobile was invited as keynote speaker for the event. Nodal Officer IIC, Dr Zia Jamal welcomed the guest. He introduced the students to problems encountered while setting up any venture and and a strategic approach to deal with the same. He further emphasized on the need for efficient use of social media platform like face book and Instagram for providing impetus to any venture. Prof.Hargurpratap Singh and Dr. Zia Jamal also encouraged the students to develop an innovative approach towards entrepreneurship. The entire teaching staff attended the workshop with enthusiasm.

Reward Best Idea Competition /Hackathon (29-01-2024)

A Reward Best Idea Competition /Hackathon was conducted by institutional innovation Council on Jan 29, 2024 under the able guidance of Principal,Government College Dr Barjinder Singh Tohra as per guidelines received from Directorate Higher Education. Mr Mohammed Muazzam Saifi MD Malerkotla Sports Industries was invited as chief guest to preside over the event. Dr Zia Jamal Nodal Officer IIC  hosted the event and introduced the guest of honor to the students. Mr Mohammed Muazzam Saifi introduced the students to basic steps for establishing any venture and how to deal with difficult situations faced during the same.At least 20 students presented their innovative ideas for setting up new ventures. The event was judged by  Mr Mohammed Muazzam Saifi and Dr Kanchan Jain,Asst Prof Department of Commerce. The winners of the Hackathon were awarded trophies and certificates by the Principal and the chief guest . Miss Harleen Kaur student of Bsc II medical and Miss Rubina BCom final bagged the first and second prizes respectively for proposing the best ideas for entrepreneurship. Dr Mohd  Ashraf, Dr Kanchan,  Dr Shafiq Thind (asst.prof) Jaspreet Kaur(Asst.prof) Shahida(Asst Prof ) Gaurav Mittal (Asst prof. )Manpreet Singh (Asst.prof)Kuldeep Singh (Asst. prof) took active part in the event.

Mentoring event/ demo day /exhibition /poster presentation of Ideas competition (02-02-2024)

Mentoring event/ demo day /exhibition /poster presentation of Ideas competition was executed by IIC on Feb 2, 2024 under the able guidance of Principal Prof. Dr Barjinder Singh Tohra and Vice Principal Dr Mohammed Shakeel as per guidelines of Directorate Higher Education Punjab. Dr Balwinder Singh Baraich,Principal Government College Girls, Malerkotla was invited as guest of honour to judge the event. Dr Zia Jamal, Nodal Officer IIC,welcomed the guest of honour. Dr Balwinder Singh encouraged students to have a flair for innovation and become  successful entrepreneurs . The students presented their posters and explained their themes with great zeal. Aisha Khalid of BSc III medical emerged winner while Rubina of B. Com II stood second in the poster exhibition. The  Principal thanked the guest of honour and congratulated the students for attending the complete lecture series organised by IIC. Asst.Prof Jaspreet Kaur, Asst.Prof Shahida, Asst. prof Manpreet Singh and Asst.prof. Sukhbir Singh actively participated in the event.
